The fashion jewellery you choose to wear can boost your confidence in meaningful ways.
Since the beginnings of civilization jewellery has been held in high regard. It has been used to celebrate battles, commemorate coronations and accompany the dead to the afterlife. In prehistoric times people even utilized shells, stone, and bone to create accessories that could offer protection from danger.
As time moved on jewellery also started to reflect status and power, becoming more ornate and elaborate. By the mid-17th century, fashion was also having an influence - as fabric dyeing techniques allowed for softer, pastel shades of clothes the choices of metals and gemstones also changed to better suit these new clothing backdrops.
Today jewellery is seen as much more a reflection of the wearer’s personality than their status or religious beliefs. Diamonds are not reserved for the rich and powerful any more than faux and costume jewellery is considered a poor alternative. In many ways, pieces of jewellery have returned to their more simplistic, symbolic roots.
Jewellery can send subtle messages to those around you. How do you want people to interpret you? Are you a bold, eye-catching jewellery wearer who wants their adornments to shout ‘confidence’? Or are you more of a subtle, delicate yet bejeweled jewellery wearer who wants their choice to say more about their understated wealth? Or maybe you choose natural wraps and bangles that say more about your ‘comfort over expense’ attitude to life?
Whoever you are your jewellery can say a lot about you – and when you’re being yourself you can relax and feel more comfortable.
Certain pieces of jewellery have attached memories and wearing something that takes you to a ‘happy place’ can’t be a bad thing! Especially in nerve-wracking situations where the touch of, or glance at, these pieces would be enough to have a calming effect.
“I love your earrings? Where did they come from?”
“That bracelet reminds me of one my grandma wore.”
We all know these conversations – those little pieces of fashion jewellery that can invite a reaction and start a dialogue with a complete stranger. The why? The when? The who? An ice-breaking accessory can really boost your confidence in social situations and gives people a great reason to approach you.
